About the Position
Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Recent experience with EPIC preferred License: Pharmacist license in the state of practice required Certifications: All licensures and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Pharmacist at the state level required Must-Have: Recent EPIC experience Description: Verify and fill orders for medications. Monitor patient medication therapies. Provide drug information. Identify and troubleshoot potential medication safety hazards. Document all interactions for medical review. Supervise and direct support personnel. Essential Functions: Process, enter, verify, and distribute medication orders in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with department and hospital policies as well as regulatory guidelines. Actively ensure that medication therapy is efficacious, safe, and cost-effective. Assure that medication prescribing is optimal regarding indication, dose, route, frequency, and allergy history. Conduct and manage daily reports on medication utilization. Identify and analyze areas needing medication improvement. Perform quality assurance procedures in related work areas. Participate in pharmacy-related tasks and programs such as clinical rounds. Expedite changes needed to meet regulatory and licensing agency standards and laws. Support department cost savings efforts. Comply with drug formulary and maintain appropriate documentation. Collaborate with leadership to purchase and procure medications. Make recommendations for process improvement or development of new pharmacy services. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: Commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients. Requirement for all associates to receive all required vaccinations.
