Contract | Days | Full-Time | 5x8-Hour Shifts (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments, reassessments, and nutrition-focused physical exams (NFPE) for adult outpatient/clinic populations including oncology patients with comorbidities such as obesity, diabetes, and GI complications
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of treatment including medical nutrition therapy and symptom management
  • Manage enteral nutrition (tube feedings), therapeutic diet orders, and monitor for refeeding syndrome, cachexia, protein-calorie malnutrition, and nutrient deficiencies
  • Utilize body composition analysis tools to support clinical decision-making
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including speech pathology, physical therapy, social services, and interpretation services to support patient care across the care continuum
  • Advocate for patients while functioning as an independent, critical thinker with strong communication skills

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required
  • Active Illinois (IL) state dietitian license required — must be in hand at time of submission, no pending licenses accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty
  • Demonstrated experience in adult outpatient or clinic settings
  • Proficiency in enteral nutrition, nutrition therapy complications, and therapeutic diet orders
  • Experience with cachexia, cancer nutrition, and conditions such as ostomy care and IV/parenteral feedings

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience in home health, hospice, or short-term acute care settings; familiarity with conditions including diabetes, Crohn's disease, IBS, dysphagia, eating disorders, extensive burns, malabsorption syndromes, and morbid obesity
  • Knowledge of total parenteral nutrition (TPN), fluid and electrolyte management, acid/base balance, and medication interactions including insulin, steroids, diuretics, immunosuppressants, and radiation effects on nutrition
  • Experience with post-operative gastric bypass, short gut syndrome, chronic wounds, and failure to thrive populations
  • Familiarity with lab value interpretation including blood glucose, A1C, and lipid panels
