Inpatient/Outpatient Pharmacist (Contract)

Job Description

 Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmacy services in a hospital setting. The pharmacist will be responsible for the safe procurement, storage, distribution, dispensing, and monitoring of medications while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role includes reviewing medication orders, providing clinical drug information, maintaining pharmacy operations, managing inventory, supporting quality assurance initiatives, and serving as the on-call pharmacist during assigned shifts. The pharmacist will also assist with policy development, regulatory compliance, controlled substance management, crash cart and emergency medication maintenance, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe and effective medication use.

• Active state Pharmacist license.
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience.
• Recent inpatient pharmacy experience within the last 3 years is required.
• Experience with inpatient medication order verification and clinical pharmacy services.
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations, including controlled substance management.
• Experience with pharmacy inventory management, medication procurement, and formulary processes.
• Ability to maintain pharmacy records, billing, and compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work varied schedules, including 5×8-hour or 4×10-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call coverage.
• Ability to provide drug information and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Experience maintaining automated dispensing systems, crash carts, and emergency medication supplies is preferred.
