About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 24 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:30 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year; First Timers are accepted License: GA RRT License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Trauma experience required; Pulmonary function testing (Spirometry testing) preferred Description: The role involves providing respiratory therapy to a diverse patient population, ranging from infants to geriatrics. The position primarily focuses on adult respiratory therapy but may require work with pediatric intubated patients. Daily responsibilities include managing non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, and aerosol therapy. The therapist will conduct bedside pulmonary function tests and perform arterial blood gas analyses. Patient education and oxygen management are central to the role. The position requires teamwork as part of an interdisciplinary support system, including rapid response teams. Experience with Trauma Level 2 care is advantageous. Preferred experience includes utilization of various respiratory equipment and systems. There is an expectation to work every other weekend, unless specified otherwise. If a major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. The facility maintains a focus on providing critical care services and managing respiratory needs effectively. Census and patient ratios will vary based on unit demands. Floating to other areas within the facility may be required as needed. Compliance with core onboarding items is necessary before starting.
