About the Position
Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: ARRT Registry Certifications: Required Must-Have: Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, problem-solving skills, manual dexterity, agility, and compassion for patient care. Description: Provides a variety of technical procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation. This position requires independent judgment and technical skills to produce the best possible radiography for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment. Responsible for performing CT and X-Ray examinations. Produces radiographs using proper technical factors and evaluates each film for proper exposure and positioning. Schedules exams and properly instructs patients on preparations for exams. Sets up and organizes rooms for any radiographic procedures. The Imaging/Radiologic Technologist reports directly to the Imaging Services Manager. Must possess astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, patients, families, and administration. Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment. Ability to problem solve and deal with diverse personalities. Ability to work alone, make independent decisions, and adapt to emergency situations. Must maintain the confidentiality of patient information. Requires effective oral and written communication with peers, professional staff, and patients. Must be sensitive to the needs of patients and co-workers. Ability to recognize and provide quality service. Flexibility to work in continually changing conditions is essential. Must have the manual dexterity to operate equipment. Ability to lift and move patients with or without assistance and maneuver equipment of at least 20 pounds. Agility is required for frequent changes in position. Visual and hearing acuity are required to receive feedback and information from patients. Includes periods of stooping, standing, bending, moderate lifting, and providing patient care.
