About the Position

Job Title: Speech Pathologist Profession: Speech Pathologist Specialty: Speech Pathologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, rotating days of the week Hours per Shift: 8.5 hours (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) Experience: 2 years of experience in acute care with adults License: Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice Certifications: CPR or BLS certification from approved vendor Must-Have: - Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent - Two years' speech language pathology experience (preferred) - ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) (preferred) Description: Provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Adheres to state and federal regulatory license, certification, and accrediting requirement guidelines. Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team. Reviews patient information before evaluations and during the course of treatment. Conducts and documents comprehensive patient assessments. Assists in data collection of patient outcomes. Instructs and directs support staff, as outlined in national and state practice acts. Supervises assistants and support staff. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Committed to the safety and well-being of all associates and patients. Required to receive all necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participates in E-Verify. Provides services throughout various units, including inpatient and outpatient settings. Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend. Uses lift equipment and performs special procedures including ICU patient care and modified barium swallow studies. No scrubs provided; no specific color required.
