About the Position
Job Title: CT Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 5x8-Hour (12:00 AM - 8:00 AM) Experience: Minimum 1 year in Diagnostic Imaging, recent experience in CT preferred License: NYS license in Radiography, certified by NYS to inject contrast media Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography, BLS Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program, maintains CE credits per American Registry of Radiologic Technologists requirements, proficient in EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and modality specific software Description: This is a 59-day assignment for a CT Tech. Shifts will be Monday through Friday during the night, from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Alternating weekends are required. A high school diploma or GED is required. Certification in American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography and Computed Tomography is mandatory. The candidate must have a minimum of one year of experience in Diagnostic Imaging. Recent relevant experience in CT is preferred. Proficiency in EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and modality specific software is required. The role provides care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The CT Tech is expected to perform various procedures including abdomen scans, brain perfusion studies, and coronary CT angiography, among others. Safety protocols, including radiation safety and isolation precautions, must be observed at all times. The candidate should have skills in 3D rendering and preparation and administration of contrast media. Being a part of an interdisciplinary team is crucial, with support from services such as pharmacy and rapid response teams. Regular continuing education is essential to maintain competencies and meet certification requirements.
