Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist

• Provide critical care support including adult critical care, emergency department, extubation, and intubation assist
• Perform nasal airway placement and suctioning
• Manage oral airway placement and suctioning
• Conduct sputum specimen collection
• Deliver tracheostomy care and management
• Utilize and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, and bag and mask
• Assist in weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
• Troubleshoot high pressure alarms on ventilation equipment

Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist

• RRT Certification
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Experience with Allscripts charting system preferred
