About the Position
Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Allied Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift - Monday through Thursday Hours per Shift: 12:30 PM - 11 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: BLS; RDCS or RCS or ACS Certifications: PALS (preferred), ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: - Skills in 2D, Doppler, color flow, 3D, strain, and contrast studies. - Stress echo skills and interventional procedures are preferred. - IV management training is preferred. - Experience with TEEs, stress testing, EKG interpretation, IV management, cardioversion, mild sedation, and infusion is preferred. Description: The Cardiac Sonographer will perform comprehensive studies on a variety of cardiac patients. The typical patient population includes those with heart failure and various cardiac diagnostics. Duties include advanced transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and dobutamine stress echo studies. The sonographer will be expected to perform approximately 110 transthoracic echocardiograms daily across all areas. They will also perform stress tests and utilize specialized equipment in the department. The department is focused on high-quality, patient and family-centered care within a fast-paced academic environment. Collaboration with dedicated cardiac ultrasound educators and a team of sonographers is integral to this role. The culture within the department emphasizes quality and efficiency while balancing portable and in-lab studies.
