About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience in acute care setting - Trauma Level II experience required - Patient ratio experience preferred - Charting system experience with Cerner preferred Description: This position involves working as a Physical Therapist in an acute care hospital setting. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 16:30. Call is required only for CVA patients on Sundays. May be floated to outpatient area as needed. Weekend coverage is required every fourth weekend. The PT will provide care for a mix of patient populations, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily patient census ranges from 75 to 100. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Experience with a variety of patient diagnoses, including cardiovascular, trauma, orthopedic, neuro, and cardiopulmonary is essential. Critical care early mobility procedures will be part of the responsibilities. Strong skills in body mechanics, patient family education, and home exercise programs are necessary.
