About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Level 4 NICU experience required; cardiac PICU experience preferred. License: Valid state license required. Certifications: RRT, BLS, NRP required. Must-Have: Must be competent in caring for patients in the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics. Description: This position is for a respiratory therapist specializing in NICU care. The candidate should have strong communication and critical thinking skills. The respiratory therapist will work in all units of the facility. The role requires the use of various respiratory equipment, including high-frequency oscillators and jet ventilators. The therapist will assist in high-risk deliveries and provide care for patients with complex conditions. Working conditions will include a multidisciplinary team environment. The position may involve working every other weekend and every other holiday. Self-scheduling will be available but is not guaranteed. The respiratory therapist will be expected to float within their scope of practice as needed. Candidates may be required to assist in neonatal transports and manage tracheostomy care. A background in pediatric critical care is preferred. Experience with charting systems, specifically EPIC, is necessary. The respiratory therapist must be familiar with patient diagnoses commonly seen in a children's hospital setting. Documentation and reporting of patient progress are integral to the role. Candidates must provide references and a copy of required certifications.
