About the Position

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Profession: Pharmacy Tech Specialty: Pharmacy Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: State Pharmacy Technician license required in state of practice Certifications: Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification preferred Must-Have: High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred Associates/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred Description: Performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other nondiscretionary tasks related to the furnishing of drugs while assisting and under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Fills and delivers the unit dose cassettes from the patients’ profile to nursing units. Pulls medications from stock and matches medications with the corresponding label generated by the pharmacist involved with entry of medication orders into the patients’ computer-generated profile in an accurate manner. Maintains floor stock, restocking, removal of expired medications, and rotating stock in nursing areas and other medication areas. Prices and stocks incoming deliveries. Prepares IV medication products within the guidelines of applicable laws and regulations. Checks in orders from wholesalers and suppliers. Distributes stock appropriately and files paperwork. Processes returns and back orders in a timely manner. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: All associates are required to receive all necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participation in E-Verify is required.
