About the Position
Job Responsibilities

Procedural Scrubbing & Circulating: Scrub in and directly assist interventional cardiologists during high-acuity diagnostic, therapeutic, and peripheral vascular procedures (including coronary angiograms, PCI, pacemakers, and structural heart cases like TAVR if applicable).

Hemodynamic Waveform Monitoring: Operate complex physiological recording systems (e.g., Mac-Lab or Witt); precisely track, record, and interpret real-time hemodynamic waveforms, intracardiac pressures, and continuous ECG changes to quickly identify arrhythmias or patient distress.

Imaging System Operation: Safely position and operate advanced single-plane or biplane fluoroscopic imaging systems, manage automated contrast injectors, and strictly enforce radiation safety standards (ALARA principles) within the suite.

Emergency On-Call Rotation: Actively participate in the department's emergency on-call pool (covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays) to provide rapid-response coverage for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMI).

Certifications: Active national credential as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or a Registered Radiologic Technologist with a dedicated cardiac focus (ARRT-R or ARRT-CI).

State Licensure: North Carolina does not currently mandate a separate state license for radiologic technologists or cardiovascular specialists; however, national registrations (ARRT or CCI) must be kept active and in good standing.

Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of recent, independent scrubbing and monitoring experience in an acute care hospital Cath Lab. High proficiency with advanced mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella) is highly preferred.

Life Support: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
