About the Position

Job Responsibilities

  • Procedural Scrubbing & Circulating: Scrub in and directly assist interventional cardiologists during diagnostic, therapeutic, and peripheral vascular procedures (e.g., coronary angiograms, PCI with specialized devices, pacemakers, and ICD placements).

  • Hemodynamic Waveform Monitoring: Operate complex physiological recording software; continuously track, document, and interpret real-time hemodynamic waveforms, intracardiac pressures, and ECG changes during high-acuity procedures.

  • Imaging System Operation: Position and operate single-plane or biplane fluoroscopic imaging equipment, manage automated contrast media injectors, and strictly practice radiation safety measures (ALARA principles) within the suite.

  • Emergency On-Call Rotation: Actively participate in the department's evening, night, and weekend emergency on-call pool to provide rapid-response coverage for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMI).

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Certifications: Active national credential as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or a Registered Radiologic Technologist with a dedicated cardiac focus (ARRT-R or ARRT-CI).

  • State Licensure: There is no state-mandated license for radiologic technologists or cardiovascular specialists in the state of Georgia; however, national credentials (ARRT or CCI) must be kept active and in good standing.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of recent, independent scrubbing and monitoring experience in a high-volume, acute care hospital Cath Lab. Experience with Epic EMR charting is highly preferred.

  • Life Support: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
