Cath Lab Tech
Location: Aspen, CO

About the Position

Job Responsibilities

• Procedural Scrubbing & Circulating: Scrub in and directly assist interventional cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including balloon angioplasties, coronary stenting, and pacemaker insertions.

• Hemodynamic Waveform Monitoring: Operate complex physiological recording systems; precisely track, document, and interpret real-time hemodynamic waveforms, intracardiac pressures, and continuous ECG changes to instantly alert the physician to abnormalities.

• Fluoroscopic Equipment Operation: Safely position and operate single-plane or biplane fluoroscopic imaging equipment, manage automated contrast media injectors, and strictly enforce radiation safety measures (ALARA principles) within the procedural suite.

• Emergency On-Call Rotation: Actively participate in the department's emergency on-call pool to provide rapid-response coverage for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMI) and emergent vascular cases during weeknights and weekends.

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Certifications: Active national credential as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or a Registered Radiologic Technologist with a dedicated cardiac focus (ARRT-R or ARRT-CI).

• State Licensure: Active Registered Medical Technologist or equivalent state registration if required by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).

• Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of recent, independent scrubbing and monitoring experience in an acute care hospital Cath Lab.

• Life Support: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
