About the Position
Job Title: Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Occupational Therapy Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience, preferably in a Level 1 trauma setting License: State Licensed Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Acute care experience Strong communication skills Desire to work with a variety of patient populations Description: The Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist will treat patients with a range of conditions including cardiopulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, medical, trauma, surgical, and oncology. Therapists will establish treatment plans and provide care while considering discharge needs and expected functional status. Collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare providers is essential, including making referrals to specialists as necessary. The role includes delegating tasks to assistants and technicians based on their skill levels and competencies to best meet patient needs. Documentation must be completed according to departmental policies. Therapists may float within service lines as necessary to meet facility needs. One weekend of work (Saturday and Sunday) is required during a four-week period, which will result in one day off that week. Special Equipment used may include SPH equipment, vital carts, iPad interpreters, and ADL supplies.
