This Cath Lab Technologist role is based in Portsmouth, Virginia, a waterfront city in the Hampton Roads region known for its coastal charm, historic districts and easy access to nearby beaches. The area offers scenic river views, outdoor recreation, local dining and entertainment, and convenient access to Norfolk and Virginia Beach for additional cultural events, shopping and nightlife. Residents benefit from a blend of small-city comfort and metropolitan amenities, plus good travel connections via regional transportation hubs. The hospital’s cath lab supports a strong cardiovascular program with a collaborative, team-based culture. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will work closely with cardiologists, nurses and other technologists to deliver high-quality imaging and procedural support for diagnostic and interventional cardiac cases. A typical day includes preparing the procedure room and equipment, ensuring radiation and contrast safety, positioning patients, operating imaging systems, capturing and storing images, and assisting with sterile supplies and instrumentation. You will help monitor patients during procedures, support emergency and urgent cases, and document imaging and procedural details in the EMR. The schedule generally features day shifts with rotating on-call to support after-hours and weekend emergencies, with case volumes and staffing designed to maintain safe and efficient workflows.
