About the Position
Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Profession: Speech Language Pathology Specialty: Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5 days a week Hours per Shift: 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Experience: Minimum Years of Experience required License: Kentucky state license required Certifications: BLS training required after hire; ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence preferred Description: Assesses and treats patients from infancy through geriatrics with a variety of speech, language, and/or oral pharyngeal sensory-motor in-competencies. Follows standards of practice of the profession and regulatory agencies. Assists in managing daily operations of speech-language pathology services. Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure maximum level of care to patients. Essential Functions: Plans and provides direct speech language pathology care to inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Evaluates patients and sets goals. Implements, reviews, and revises treatment programs as necessary. Documents patient evaluations and treatment, including progress notes and discharge summaries. Completes necessary documentation related to billing, coding, and pre-authorizations. Contacts reimbursement sources to ensure coverage of services. Provides counseling and education to patients and families regarding treatment goals and home programs. Participates in planning and preparing new programs and organizational improvements. Communicates and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and referral sources. Assists in management of daily operations of speech-language pathology services. Maintains patient information and adheres to revenue and expense budget. Teaches, evaluates, and schedules students and volunteers in speech language pathology. Performs other duties as assigned. Adheres to dress code and medical center policies. Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity. Demonstrates knowledge of compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures.
