About the Position

Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Current and valid Respiratory Care license Certifications: BLS - AHA, ACLS, PALS, NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification Must-Have: Ventilator set-up experience Description: The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under supervision, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual. Provides respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system. Assists with intubation and manages ventilator set-up. Gathers all information necessary to evaluate patient needs, including disease education and consultations with other health care professionals as appropriate. Develops rapport and mutual respect with patients, caregivers, and team members to foster an optimum environment for goal achievement. Provides and documents education to patients and caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 1 hour a day. Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors is expected.
