About the Position
Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Profession: Cardiovascular Cath Lab Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year in Cardiac Cath License: Required Licenses & Certifications: BLS, Radiology certification Certifications: AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification Must-Have: 1 year of experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory. Description: The Cardiovascular Technologist will assist physicians with all invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including temporary and permanent pacemaker placement. In addition, the Cardiovascular Technologist will assist with circulatory support devices as indicated. The Technologist prepares and organizes specific equipment and sterile trays for each procedure. Assists the procedure room team by positioning and preparing patient monitoring. Calibrates and tests transducers for accurate pressure readings. Assists physicians throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures. Loads and operates power injectors and associated sterile support equipment. Maneuvers the table controls for physicians as requested. Calibrates hemodynamic monitoring equipment and obtains, calculates, and analyzes all hemodynamic data assembled during the procedure. Calculates and records cardiac output and oximetry readings. Utilizes and maintains the required standards for the operation of digital cine technologies. Assists with vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostatic closure devices. Adheres to practice requirements related to Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems. Operates equipment safely and prepares and cares for equipment as necessary. Participates in the catheterization lab on-call responsibilities as per policy and procedure. Applies radial access banding while maintaining hemostasis at the access site. Recognizes and interprets all cardiac arrhythmias. Assists with maintenance, calibration, and routine periodic evaluation of diagnostic and technical equipment. Lifts a minimum of 40 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs., and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs. Adheres to radiation safety standards as per policy and procedure.
