About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year; first timers are accepted License: GA RRT License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Trauma experience required; Pulmonary function testing preferred Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. This position is responsible for managing a patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics. Primarily focused on adult respiratory therapy, but will also work with pediatric intubated patients. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center and interventional stroke certified, along with a Level 3 NICU. The NICU serves as the regional transport resource. Responsibilities include managing non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, and aerosol therapy. Perform bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial line placement, oxygen management, patient education, and arterial blood gas analysis. Capillary blood gas tests and drawing from lines are also required. The role requires handling trauma patients. Familiarity with pulmonary function testing (Spirometry testing) is preferred. Experience with specific equipment such as Viasys Vela and GE Carescape is advantageous. Interdisciplinary support is available through respiratory services and rapid response teams.
