About the Position
Job Title: Therapist Profession: Therapist Specialty: Clienttion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3-5 years' experience as a radiation therapist License: ARRT in Therapy RT(T) Required Certifications: Department of State Health Services (Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist) Required, BLS Required Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science in Clienttion Therapy preferred - Responsible for daily treatment of patients with ionizing radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist. - Work with the radiation oncologist and physics personnel in performing simulation and treatment calculations. - Responsible for daily warm-up and Quality Assurance of the treatment machine and C.T. simulator. - Provide education and information to patients and family members regarding all processes involved in the planning and delivery of radiation treatment. - Help overcome fears and myths regarding treatment. - Ensure that accurate and all relevant data is passed on to the therapists, radiation oncologist, and physics team conducting dose calculations. - Ensure that standard treatment protocols are followed throughout the process. - Ensure that all processes are signed off by the radiation oncologist, including Isodose Plans, Calculations, Laboratory and Radiology results, and Dictations. - Familiarity with Linear Accelerator, C.T. Simulator, ADAC Treatment Planning System, and VARIS System is essential.
