About the Position

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Profession: Pharmacy Technician Specialty: Pharmacy Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift 4 x 10s Hours per Shift: 10 hours (1730 to 0400) Experience: 5 years of hospital experience, sterile compounding experience required License: State Pharmacy Technician license required Certifications: Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification preferred Description: Performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other nondiscretionary tasks related to the furnishing of drugs while assisting and under the direct supervision and control of a pharmacist. Fills and delivers unit dose cassettes from patients' profiles to nursing units. Pulls medications from stock and matches medications with the corresponding label generated by the pharmacist involved with entry of medication orders into the patients’ computer-generated profiles in an accurate manner. Maintains floor stock of nursing areas and other medication areas by restocking, removing expired medications, and rotating stock. Prices and stocks incoming deliveries. Prepares IV medication products within the guidelines of applicable laws and regulations. Checks in orders from wholesaler and suppliers. Distributes appropriately the stock and files paperwork; processes returns and back orders in a timely manner. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: All associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participation in E-Verify is required. Completion of all required training and compliance measures is necessary as a condition of employment.
