About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist Specialty: Physical Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift; Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8am to 5pm Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience License: Current Physical Therapy license, or eligible for registration in the state Certifications: Current BLS course completion Must-Have: Member of APTA preferred Description: Client is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients. Therefore, all associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Works under limited supervision while administering various standard physical therapy treatments for disabilities, injuries, and diseases to relieve pain, restore motor function, and maintain optimal performance. This position is represented by a professional organization. Responsible for observing work schedule and job requirements while maintaining compliance with departmental policies including attendance and confidentiality. Completes evaluations on each patient within 24 hours of the physician order. Documents patient assessment and ongoing care concisely according to agency policy and physical therapy standards. Encourages team members to promote patient and family independence and prepare patients for discharge. Evaluates patient care needs on admission and on an ongoing basis demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to agency policies. Instructs home care personnel in correct lifting techniques and use of body mechanics. Maintains physical therapy skills inventory list annually. Participates in performance improvement plan activities as requested or needed. Communicates changes in patient's condition and/or orders to other team members promptly. Supervises administration of treatments to patients by assistants. Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned. Scheduling is consistent but dynamic based on patient load. Charting is done through electronic medical records, with a manual log kept in addition.
