About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (12:00 PM - 8:30 PM) Experience: 2 years preferred License: Not specified Certifications: BLS, CBSPD preferred Must-Have: Previous travel experience required Description: Midsize experience preferred. Previous travel experience preferred. Call is required. CBSPD certification is not required. Required skills include acute hospital OR and ambulatory surgery center experience. Experience with biological indicators and bronchoscopes is desirable. Skills in cleaning equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps are necessary. Experience with scopes including colonoscopes, EGD scopes, and fiber optics is beneficial. Familiarity with high-level disinfection (HLD) and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) is important. Proficiency in sterilization wrapping procedures and steam sterilization testing/monitoring is required. Proper selection of wrapping materials is essential. Experience with robotics and the reprocessing of scopes/probes is a plus. Understanding of interdisciplinary support related to various patient diagnoses such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery is necessary. The role involves working in sterile processing decontamination and clean assembly areas. Applicants should be prepared to float to like units within their scope as needed. Travelers will receive brief orientation on the unit. Compliance with necessary requirements must be performed in a timely manner.
