About the Position

Job Title: Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: Echo Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) Experience: 2+ years current Echo/Sonographer Cardiac experience License: RDCS/RCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer; ARMDS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer; CCI - Required Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS; Active American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS Must-Have: - Proficiency in or willingness to cross train for vascular examinations - Ability to function independently and proficiently - Ability to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies regularly - Ability to work in a high-stress environment - Working knowledge of clinical emergency equipment Description: The Cardiac Sonographer performs echocardiography exams, including sub-specialty exams such as stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography. Utilizes two-dimensional and color spectral Doppler and M-mode imaging techniques to image patients as requested by the ordering physician. Works independently, consulting with the ordering or interpreting physician as needed, especially when unusual or unexpected findings are encountered. Must have the ability to synthesize varying amounts of data related to the patient's medical history. Responsible for the patient’s welfare for the entire duration in the outpatient facility or length of time the inpatient is in the testing area. Must be proficient in or willing to cross train for vascular examinations. Ability to function independently and proficiently is essential. Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis. Must be able to operate HIS and CIS computers. Familiarity with clinical emergency equipment such as oxygen tanks and suction apparatus is required. Any requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted and verified at submission. Requests made after submission may not be approved. No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted. All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission.
