Key Responsibilities of the Electrophysiology Tech - Cath Lab Technologist

• Assist the Physicians in all aspects of invasive procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters.
• Coordinate and perform diagnostic and interventional procedures using appropriate equipment.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during examinations and procedures by providing explanations and answering questions.
• Transfer patients onto medical equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers as necessary.
• Set up sterile trays and maintain inventory for the department post-procedure.
• Assist with the administration of contrast media.
• Maintain and perform routine safety checks and preventative maintenance on interventional equipment.
• Participate in continuous professional development activities.
• Manage all aspects of Electrophysiology (EP) program and keep current on EP developments.

Requirements of the Electrophysiology Tech - Cath Lab Technologist

• Associate's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology or three years' recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cath Lab.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Course.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification.
