About the Position
Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Profession: Physical Therapist Assistant Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Hours, M-F Experience: 1 Year of PTA Experience Required License: PTA License Required Certifications: Active State Licensure Required Must-Have: LTC or SNF Experience Required Description: Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions. Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist. Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including, but not limited to, manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities. Assesses patient progress and communicates with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments in the clinical record. Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist. Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders. Effectively communicates with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans. Provides input to supervisors for discharge summaries of services provided. Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to policy. Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided. Participates in required meetings including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings. Participates in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences. Works with supervisors to obtain any necessary DME or supplies. Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist. Adheres to required practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
