About the Position
Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: Inpatient Occupational Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Strong verbal and written communication skills Flexibility Strong teamwork skills ADL evaluation Documentation justifying next level of care Description: Occupational therapists are required to undergo a credentialing process that may take time. Onboarding and licensing must be completed in a timely manner to avoid delays in start dates. The department treats approximately 120-150 patients per day. Each therapist conducts around 9 evaluations and 16 treatments daily. Common patient diagnoses include adult and pediatric ICU cases, trauma, neuro, orthopedic, general medical surgical, oncology, and inpatient rehab. Therapists will cover various areas including acute inpatient, acute rehab, and outpatient settings. The role involves evaluating activities of daily living (ADLs) and documenting care needs. Flexibility in scheduling is important as self-scheduling is not allowed. Weekend and holiday work is required on a rotational basis. All staff must adhere to a professional dress code with clean solid colors. Collaboration with rehabilitation aides and certified occupational therapy assistants is expected. Participation in a variable shift schedule is part of the role. Charting will be done using the Cerner system. Compliance with clocking in and out procedures at the facility is mandatory. Candidates with prior work experience in the facility will need to meet specific criteria regarding their employment history. The department's specific orientation will vary based on individual skills.
