About the Position
Job Title: Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: General Duration: Not specified Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Not specified License: State licensure required Certifications: Registered with ARDMS or CCI for vascular ultrasound required Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program required; valid driver's license required; vaccination against COVID-19 required Description: Serves over 7,500 care facilities nationwide. Benefits include job security and a supportive team. Provide mobile ultrasound service. Majority of work activity performed in various facilities throughout the regions serviced. Traveling in an automobile to the location is required. Login for self-dispatching or call into the dispatch department to obtain information regarding the beginning case load. Arrive at the first case at the start of the assigned shift or leave thirty minutes prior. Unload portable sonographic equipment and take it into facilities to perform exams ordered by the physician. Must obtain clinically diagnostic, technically competent images. Perform and process ultrasounds using portable sonographic equipment and digitally send them to a Radiologist for interpretation. Check voicemail from each client's facility upon completion of assigned cases, or minimally every thirty minutes as necessary. Check for available cases via self-dispatching system and/or check in with the dispatcher every thirty minutes as necessary. Wear the company uniform and follow the dress code. Carry the company-provided phone on your person. Respond to all urgent communication within fifteen minutes. Attend meetings as required. Check all orders for accuracy against the exams listed in the patient's chart as ordered by the physician. Ensure correct patient identification by asking for two patient identifiers. If the patient is unable to identify themselves, a nurse in charge must identify them. Document the nurse's name on the requisition. Facility staff are responsible for any required patient transfers and assistance. Sonographers must have medical physical examinations and TB screening at the time of hire and annually. Documentation and results of examinations and tests must be provided within two weeks of the last annual exam. Scan exam-related paperwork daily per protocol. Communicate efficiently with peers, supervisory staff, and clients. Maintain vehicle and sonographic equipment. Sonographers maintain a high standard of medical ethics and are self-motivated to increase their knowledge. Responsible for all motor vehicle tickets. Alcohol, illegal substances, and weapons are prohibited. Adhere to the drug-free workplace policy. Conduct yourself in a professional and ethical manner. Care for equipment properly, and notify the supervisor of malfunctions immediately. Train other technologists as required. Be self-motivated, dependable, and work independently with minimal supervision. Complete and successfully pass drug screening and background checks. Strong organizational skills and basic smartphone and computer operation skills are required. Pleasant phone manner and strong interpersonal skills are essential. This job description represents only a portion of the responsibilities of the Sonographer. All Sonographers are responsible for other duties as assigned.
