About the Position

Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Overnight Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care hospital pharmacy License: Pharmacist license required Certifications: ACLS & BLS preferred Description: TRAVEL - Pharmacist This position involves working the overnight shift from 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM. The unit consists of a total of 406 beds and approximately 30 pharmacists on staff. The pharmacy staff includes pharmacists covering unit dose, IV, satellite services, emergency department, critical care training, infectious disease, oncology, and clinical operational excellence. Night shift staff includes pharmacists covering unit dose, IV, satellite, and overnight operations. Patient ratios are variable. Equipment used includes Pyxis machines and a CII safe, with EMR systems Meditech and Vigilanz. Key responsibilities include order verification and medication final verification. Pharmacists perform clinical dosing per established guidelines and document clinical tasks in Vigilanz software. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and attention to detail. They should enjoy a collaborative work environment and possess excellent communication skills. The position requires the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Staff will gain experience in hospital pharmacy and may have opportunities to expand knowledge in critical care, emergency services, and other clinical areas.
