About the Position
Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Therapy Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting required License: Must hold a valid occupational therapy license Certifications: None required Must-Have: Hospital and inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred. Experience with stroke evaluation and treatment. Description: Two years of experience in a hospital setting is required. The unit has a total of 44 beds. Patient ratio is 4:1. Staffing includes 10 OT/PT teams, 3 speech therapists, and 1 technician. Equipment used includes Sara Lifts, Ceiling Lifts, Bioness, and Diego. Documentation is handled through Meditech Expanse. Scheduling is Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts between 7 AM and 5 PM. Weekends may rotate based on schedule needs. Floating to other units may occur if rehabilitation census is low. Patient experience involves the use of AIDET communication and immediate service recovery methods. Advanced skills in manual therapy for neuro re-education, therapeutic exercise, functional activity, neuromuscular re-education, self-care, and functional electrical stimulation are essential. Preferred dress code is black scrub bottoms and royal blue tops. Please be aware of unit-specific policies and guidelines.
