About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapy Specialty: Acute PT Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in specialty preferred License: Current PT license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to manage a caseload independently. Experience with specified patient types. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. Description: Manager interview required. Patient types and common diagnoses include spinal cord injuries, TBI, strokes, amputees, multiple trauma, hip fractures, bilateral knee replacements, postoperative cardiac surgery, postoperative COVID patients, and medically complex/debilitating patients. Fluent in caring for patients in acute care settings, including post-cardiac and orthopedic procedures. Will also provide outpatient services for general orthopedic (surgical and non-surgical), sports medicine, pediatrics (developmental), neuro-specific diagnoses (higher functioning), and spinal patients (surgical and non-surgical). Experience in skilled nursing settings similar to inpatient rehabilitation is beneficial. The department provides support from supervisors, assistant directors, and peer therapists. Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Meditech Expanse and Wellsky, is required. Case loads will be full by the end of the first week of work. Scheduling typically runs from 08:00 to 16:30 depending on location. Weekend coverage is minimal with only one weekend per month required for inpatient rehabilitation and acute care. No holiday commitments or call responsibilities are expected. Dress code includes scrub colors of pewter for inpatient and professional attire for outpatient settings.
