Required certifications include CCC-SLP and BLS. Experience in acute care is necessary. Pediatric outpatient and children's hospital experience are preferred. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations and assessments. The role demands familiarity with alternative communication devices. Clinical skills should encompass bedside swallow evaluations. Experience with developmental delays and language disorders is essential. Knowledge of conducting modified barium swallow studies is required. The candidate must be skilled in patient and family education. Expertise in augmentative communication and compensatory strategies is important. Familiarity with various speech therapy assessments is necessary. Experience working with pediatric patients is crucial. Interdisciplinary support will be available for collaborative care. Flexibility to float to different units may be required, depending on patient needs. The candidate will work closely with other therapists and healthcare professionals.
