About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist 1 Profession: Therapist Specialty: Physical Therapy Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: PT (TX or Compact) Certifications: BLS (AHA Only) Must-Have: Bachelor’s Degree Description: The Physical Therapist 1 provides care to patients through evaluation. Treatment planning is essential. Implementation of treatment and patient education are key responsibilities. Discharge planning is conducted to maximize the patient's functional level. Essential Functions of the Role: Evaluates, treats, and monitors patients. Modifies therapy programs and goals as needed. Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Accurate entry of charges is required. Understands reimbursement related to the practice setting. Communicates effectively with patients and families. Works with departmental coworkers and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, families, and staff as necessary. Supervises support staff, students, and volunteers. Advances clinical skills through ongoing education. Engages in literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice. Shares knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Maintains awareness of organizational goals. Aligns individual goals and work activities to support the system’s objectives. Key Success Factors: Possesses problem-solving skills necessary for the job. Demonstrates good communication skills. Relates professionally and positively to patients and staff. Exhibits strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills. Delivers excellent customer service to all patients and coworkers.
