About the Position
Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist Profession: Speech and Language Pathology Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday, Wednesday, Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: 1+ years of current long-term care SLP experience preferred License: Valid, unrestricted license in Speech Language Pathology in the state of Michigan required Certifications: Active American Health Association BLS required Must-Have: Candidates must be willing to complete medical and fingerprinting within 24-48 hours if offered. Candidates must have knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations and procedures. Candidates should possess patience and tact, with a willingness to deal with difficult residents and family members. Candidates should have the ability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies. Description: This position leads, guides, and directs the delivery of speech language pathology and audiology services in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as established facility policies and procedures. It is essential to treat all residents with dignity and respect while promoting and protecting their rights. Confidentiality of protected health information must be maintained in all communications. Reporting noncompliance with policies, procedures, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel is mandatory. Any allegations of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of residents must be reported to a supervisor or administrator. Protecting residents from abuse and cooperating with all investigations is crucial. Responsibilities include fulfilling assigned duties during the facility's emergency plan implementation. Following established infection control policies and procedures is required. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with medical and nursing staff, as well as all departments. Acceptance of call-backs during emergency conditions is also necessary.
