About the Position

Job Title: CVOR CST Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: CVOR Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 06:00 - 16:30 Experience: 2 years License: CST through NBSTSA Certifications: BLS, CST through NBSTSA Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma Experience Description: Position requires a CVOR CST. Years of experience required: 2 years. Must have Level 1 Trauma Experience. Shift hours are from 06:00 to 16:30 for a duration of 13 weeks. On-call requirement after shift hours on weekends during scheduled weeks. Must be available for at least two days of call each week and 1-2 weekends every six-week schedule depending on the need. Facility may call off one shift per two weeks. First-time travelers are not accepted. Local candidates are not accepted. Must float to other units as required based on census. Staff may float to other units they are qualified for. Will float to the main OR if CVOR volume is low. Average patient population is three cardiac surgeries per day. Required clinical skills include CVOR experience and First Assist roles. Special procedures include Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atherectomy, ASD repair, Cardiomyoplasty, CABG, ECMO, Mitral valve replacement, Pericardial window, and VAD management. COVID-19 vaccine is not required. Flu vaccine is required, with no exemptions. Travel pairs are welcome. Additional skills may be required for certain specific procedures. Modules must be completed prior to starting. All tasks must be performed for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented.
