About the Position
Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist Profession: Speech-Language Pathologist Specialty: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 08:00-16:30 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a hospital setting License: Required Certifications: None required Must-Have: - Hospital and inpatient rehab experience preferred - Stroke evaluation and treatment experience Description: 2 years experience in a hospital setting is required. The unit consists of 44 beds. Patient ratios are 8-9:1. The staffing includes 10 OT/PT teams and 3 speech therapists. There is 1 tech on the unit. Type of equipment includes Vital Stim, AmpCare, MBSS with TIMS, and FEES. The documentation system used is Meditech Expanse. Shifts are Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 5 PM. Weekends may rotate. There is a floating policy in place. You may float to acute care if the rehab census is low and on weekends. There are patient experience requirements that include the use of AIDET communication and immediate service recovery. Joint Commission Stroke Certification is recognized. Candidates must have experience in swallowing and language procedures. The preferred dress code is black scrub bottoms and a royal blue top. Unit guidelines and policies are available for reference. Additional information to entice candidates includes new equipment and technology as well as the tenure and experience of the staff.
