About the Position
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2-5 years based on certification License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), RRT preferred or CRT with experience Must-Have: Must have adult, NICU, and pediatric experience. Must have 2-3 years of experience if RRT, or 3-5 years if CRT. Knowledge of NAVA (naturally adjusted ventilatory assist) on specific ventilators is required for NICU. Description: This role involves managing all respiratory therapy equipment, treatments, transport, and arterial blood gases (ABGs). The therapist will not perform EKGs. The team will cover inpatient areas, providing care for adults and pediatrics. Travelers will assist with intubation but are not required to be independent. There will be a lead therapist on each shift, with support from management during daytime hours. Typically, there are multiple therapists on duty for coverage. Various equipment will be utilized, including specific ventilators for adults and pediatrics, along with BiPAPs and high-flow systems. Scheduling accommodates requests for blocks but is not guaranteed. Travelers will be required to work every other weekend and holidays if assigned during that time. Floating to other facilities may be necessary. The dress code is professional, with flexibility in color. Orientation typically involves multiple shifts to cover various care areas.
