About the Position

Job Title: Speech Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: SLP Inpatient Rehab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: 3 years preferred, 2 years considered with strong experience/skillset License: Active license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Preferred experience in TBI and CVA care Description: The Speech Therapist will work in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The schedule includes five 8-hour shifts per week with every third weekend required. Previous experience in Traumatic Brain Injury and Cerebrovascular Accident care is preferred. Candidates must possess knowledge and skills in adult rehabilitation and acute care. The role involves conducting assessments, evaluations, and providing treatment for patients. Preferred experience includes knowledge of alternative communication devices and dysphagia management. Skills in group therapy and documentation for therapy sessions are necessary. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team is essential. Candidates must be able to educate patients and families regarding communication strategies. Flexibility to float within the scope of practice as required. The ability to interpret modified barium swallow studies and conduct related assessments is important. A focus on patient-centered care and the ability to modify care plans as needed is crucial. Travel experiences are welcomed, and first-time travelers are accepted for this position. Participation in required holidays and weekend shifts is expected.
