About the Position
Job Title: Cath Lab Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Cath Lab Tech Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT or CCI RCIS Must-Have: - Charge experience - Patient ratio experience - Travel experience Description: SCHEDULE: Weekend coverage included in call requirements. Call rotation is 5 weekdays and 1 weekend every 6 weeks. Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two years required; first-time travelers will not be accepted. Clinical screening will be conducted to determine candidate fit. If the clinical pass is achieved and guidelines are met, the candidate will be reviewed by the manager for a final decision. Clinical screens will be performed on a case-by-case basis. RTO policy allows a maximum of 7 days. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler must work both. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. FULL compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance may delay onboarding by 2 weeks. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Responsibilities include the following skills: - Cardiac implant closure device - Cardiac stent placement - Diagnostic cardiac catheterizations - Electrophysiology lab experience - IABP placement/removal - Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias - Maintenance of equipment The ideal candidate will have experience in an interventional cardiac cath lab and be proficient in sterile techniques. Candidates should be capable of working as a room circulator and scrub procedures, while maintaining a sterile field. Candidates are also expected to follow isolation precautions and PPE guidelines.
