About the Position
Job Title – Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)
Location – Rochester, New York 14626, United States
Duration – 13 Weeks (06/15/2026 onward)
Shift – Day/Mid Shift, 4x10-Hour (11:00 AM – 09:30 PM and/or 01:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Call Requirement – Yes
Weekend Requirement – 6 shifts per each 8-week block including weekends and holidays

Job Description
Certified Surgical Technologist responsible for supporting a high-volume Operating Room environment across multiple surgical specialties. The CST will assist surgical teams in maintaining sterile fields, preparing instrumentation, supporting complex surgical procedures, and ensuring adherence to patient safety and infection control standards.
The ideal candidate must have strong multi-specialty OR experience, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical setting with diverse case types.
Requirements
Mandatory Skills / Experience
• Minimum 3 years of CST experience required
• Travel experience required (first-time travelers not preferred)
• Bariatrics experience REQUIRED
• Vascular surgery experience REQUIRED
• Thoracic surgery experience REQUIRED
• Orthopedic surgery experience REQUIRED
• Neuro surgery experience REQUIRED
• General OR experience required
• Strong aseptic and sterile technique required
• Sharps safety and Universal Protocol/Time-Out procedure experience required
• Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes required
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System required
• Colorectal robotic surgery experience required
Surgical Experience Required
• Bariatrics: gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, lap band procedures
• Vascular: AAA repair, carotid angioplasty, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, fem-pop bypass grafts
• Thoracic: mediastinoscopy, VATS procedures
• ENT: direct laryngoscopy, radical neck dissection, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tracheostomy
• General Surgery: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy
• Gynecology: cervical cerclage, D&C, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, tubal ligation
• Neuro: craniotomy, cervical fusion, lumbar fusion, VP shunt insertion, XLIF procedures
• Orthopedic: spinal fusion, ORIF, total hip replacement, total knee replacement, carpal tunnel release
• Plastics: flap reconstruction procedures
• Urology: cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, ureteroscopy
• Robotics: Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and colorectal robotic surgery
Certifications
• CST certification required
• NBSTSA preferred
