About the Position
Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: Occupational Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Two years' occupational therapy experience preferred License: Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) required; only if obtained license on or after January 2007; or foreign equivalent Description: Centered in a community setting, this position involves planning and conducting segments of treatment programs. The goal is to restore and improve physical, social, and mental functions while meeting department objectives. As a co-leader in an interdisciplinary approach, the therapist will work with patient groups. Evaluations will be completed to ensure quality standards are met and assessment areas addressed. Appropriate clinical techniques and tools will be used to establish individualized treatment plans for patients. Therapeutic interventions will be provided using suitable treatment protocols and techniques. Individualized care and discharge plans will be established and communicated to the appropriate parties. Comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation will be completed within established deadlines. Supervision of assigned assistants will be part of the responsibilities. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required. Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of associates and patients is essential. Vaccinations may be required as a condition of employment, with possible medical and religious exemptions. The facility participates in E-Verify. All areas are staffed seven days a week. A cafeteria is on-site, and department training will be provided during the first week after hospital orientation. Hunter green scrubs are required (either the top or bottoms, or both).
