The choice is yours. If you really enjoy an assignment you can request an extended stay or you can take a break until you choose to start another job. Many allied health care providers who retire choose the travel job avenue in order to earn great money without getting locked down, for example, and may take long breaks between them. However, you can work with your recruiter to help you go immediately to a new assignment as soon as yours ends if you wish.
