Responsible for assessing and interpreting evaluation/s and test results for patients ranging in age from birth through geriatric; determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription and setting realistic treatment goals depending on the patient s physical, mental abilities, needs, and evaluation findings and/or diagnosis and documenting in electronic health records (EHR); evaluate results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient s progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modification to therapy plan; promote maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to the patient s goals and needs; maintains the operation and organization of the Occupational Therapy program for outpatients and inpatients (regular work week, weekend services not available at this time, and depending on location of clinic-TCRHCC or SPHC); documentation of patient care services by charting in patients records; provision of specialty services to include but not limited to custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitive treatment, activities of daily living; provision of specialty clinics (depending on location of clinic) including but not limited to Spinal Cord clinic, Functional clinic, Geriatric clinic, Assistive Technology/adaptive equipment evaluation/treatment, Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program; assists with direction and development of the occupational therapy service to include continued quality improvement, risk management and safety; complies with federal, and state occupational therapy certification requirements and follow TCHRCC policy and procedures; complies with the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Occupational Therapy Profession-Scope of Practice as set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association; provide training and in-services for student and staff education; consult with rehabilitation team, and other health care workers (e.g., physician, nurses, social workers, etc.); and other duties.
