When submitting candidates include at least two references (one must be from current manager), a resume, and completed skills checklist/competency assessment.DUTIES: Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. *Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served *Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient *Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. *Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. *Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care. *Is a patient advocate.CERTIFICATIONS: Must have a PT License. - BLS/BCLS certifications required. BLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.SHIFTS: Starts between 0700-0830; Hours Flexible (5 x 8s; 4 x 10s, etc.) Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. Duties and Responsibilities: * Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. * Review’s physician’s referral and patient’s condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required. * Communicate appropriately and clearly to charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians. * Enter and verify orders in the computer system. * Tests and measures patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs. * Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data. * Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function. * Administers treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment, such as hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, moist pack, ultraviolet and infrared lamps and ultrasound machines. * Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit. * Administers massage, and traction to relieve pain. * Records, treatment, response, and progress in patients charts. * Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. * Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants and aides. Education & Experience Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited PT program. * Current PT license in good standing. * One year of experience as PT in the healthcare setting. * Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
