Travel Pharmacy Tech - $1,395 per week in Madison, WI - Summary : * Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners. * Performs data entry for patient information and medications and ensure compliance with HIPPA regulations and patient confidentiality laws. * Deliver quality customer service, prepare prescriptions, field injuries, escalate issues to the Pharmacise. * He or She will assist with compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations as well as proper storage and documentation. Duties and Responsibilities: * Knowledge of medications and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration and knowledge of accepted medication resources and informational databases. * Assist with preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications and supplies ina ccordance with physicians’ prescriptions to patients. * Assist with providing other drug and pharmaceutical information, as appropriate, to patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications, contraindications, dosage, medications, interactions, and side effects. * Assist with reviewing medication orders for appropriateness and contacting the prescriber, as directed by pharmacist, for any medication related problems or order clarification. * Assist with overseeing the acquisition and disbursement of drugs and medications to clinical sites and offices. * Assist with establishing and maintaining methods and manner of storage and recordkeeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals with particular attention to controlled substances. * Assist with duties related to inventory control of medication and supplies. * Assist with providing support, education and oversight for investigational medications for patients. * Provide information regarding their preparation, labeling and availability within the medication system; maintain appropriate and required records and documentation for investigational drugs. * Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards. * Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements: * A current unrestricted license or certificate to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of assignment if required. Certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification. * Board (PTCB) or the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT) may be required or preferred. * One year of pharmacy tech experience. * AHA BLS required. This individual will demonstrate integrity, dependability and the ability to recognize each individual s unique contributions to the York Hospital culture . You will participate in all aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgement of a pharmacist. All duties will be performed in accordance with the goals and objectives of pharmacy administration.Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:1. Performs independently with respect to all essential technician duties and responsibilities within the department2. Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients3. Appropriately utilizes Personal protective Equipment4. Utilizes aseptic technique during all aspects of compounding process in a timely manner5. Maintains strict adherence to USP 797 and 800 standards6. Performs required calculations for drug dilutions and reconstitution7. Utilizes closed system transfer devices (CSTD s) during all hazardous medication preparation8. Properly disposes of all hazardous waste generated during the compounding process9. Assists in cleaning all controlled environments within the pharmacy area per daily, weekly and monthly requirements10. Prioritizes daily compounding workload to also complete batched preparations11. Maintains proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers and inventories12. Perform basic data entry into department automation for pharmacists verification of compounded product13. Helps to establish, coordinate, and maintain daily work functions; optimizes time efficiently and effectively14. Resolves workplace crisis and conflict in a calm, constructive and professional manner15. Places orders for medications and supplies from vendors as needed in the absence of the Purchasing Agent.16. Assists with the restocking of pharmaceutical products in all areas of the hospital including the automated dispensing machines17. Conducts nursing unit, pharmacy and off-site QA inspections; ensures 100% department compliance18. Maintains the quality control standards of the clean room(s) in accordance with USP regulations19. Maintains records associated with quality control of clean room activities including temperature and pressure logs20.
