Shifts: 10 hours mids Department/Unit - Pharmacy The Pharmacy Technician, Certified, assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. State license status must be currently active Minimum of 1 year experience in the health care setting as a Pharm Tech required Primary Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities Reviews patient and scheduling information, billing functions, and communication orders in the electronic health record. Resolves medication discrepancies in the assigned work queue. Operates proficiently all technology systems associated with medication dispensing and distribution for patient care (i.e. Automated dispensing cabinets, automated dispensing machine controlled substance vaults, packagers, etc). Maintains and troubleshoots software and equipment, when appropriate. Loads, refills, outdate tracks, troubleshoots, resolves discrepancies, and generates reports for automated dispensing cabinets. Performs sterile compounding.
