Oncology Pharmacist Jobs in Sebastian, FL
Hospital in the Sebastian, FL area is currently looking for an Oncology Pharmacist. Sebastian, Florida is located on the east coast of Florida between Melbourne and Vero Beach, in an area known as the Treasure Coast. Sebastian is home of Pelican Island Preserve, ecotourism, sport fishing, golf and surfing.
Position: Oncology Pharmacist
The Oncology Pharmacist shall work with a team of physicians, nurses and financial experts to provide evidence based, timely and accurate pharmaceutical care for patients utilizing the facilities. The pharmacist shall develop and manage protocols for prescribing, dosing and monitoring of chemotherapy agents, erythropoietic and iron preparations, antibiotics and immune globulin. The pharmacist shall lead a systematic review of indications, dosage and reimbursement of all requests to determine appropriate use of resources. The Oncology Pharmacist shall establish and work within a safe work environment for the reconstitution, infusion and disposal of hazardous medications. The Oncology Pharmacist shall manage and expedite therapy containing investigational drugs or research protocols. The Oncology Pharmacist shall develop and implement staff development programs for pharmacists, mentor pharmacy residents or students and provide in-service education to physicians, nurses, and medical students. The Oncology Pharmacist will be expected to rotate through the centralized distribution process on weekends on a limited basis.
