Travel Histo Tech - $40 per hour in Scarborough, ME - Position: Histotechnician Job Details: * Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. * Performs accurate gross description on tissue samples. * Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records. * Operates all instruments/ equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/ equipment problems. * Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. * Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution. * Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol. * Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results. * Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System. * Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines. Qualifications: * Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science * Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours)State Licensure, where applicable (CA, FL, NY require licensing) * Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria. * Skills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting and routine special staining techniques. * 0-2 years of experience

Travel Histo Tech - $30 to $35 per hour in Newtown Square, PA - Position: Histotechnician Job Description: Under general supervision and according to policies and procedures, perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides, for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s) * Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting. * Ensure proper tissue processing. * Under general supervision, perform embedding and microtomy for select specimen types as defined by Histology Manager/Supervisor. * Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining. * Perform coverslipping of stained slides either manually or automated. * Under general supervision, perform special stains under approval of/at discretion of Histology Manager/Supervisor. * Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of non-complex equipment. * Perform filing of finished blocks and slides. * Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies, and document all quality control activities. * Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. * Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations. 13.
