Travel Dialysis Tech - $1,277 per week in Oak Harbor, WA - Weekly Pay Range - $1150 To $1277 Summary : * Dialysis technicians are medical specialists trained in the operation of a dialysis machine. * Their primary duties include monitoring patients undergoing dialysis treatment, ensuring usage of the machine is safe and secure, and adjusting patient fluid removal rates as required. * Reports to the Supervisor of the Unit. Duties and Responsibilities: * Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. * Weighs patient and takes vital signs before, during and after treatment ? * Sets up dialysis machines in readiness for therapy and breaks machine down after therapy based on company protocol. * Follow established safety and infection control precautions, policies and procedure. * Perform catheter care under the direction of a registered nurse. * Cannulate effectively as per protocol and under the supervision of a nurse ? * Collects information for the charge nurse during patient assessment and evaluation ? * Collects Pre and Post dialysis blood samples. * Spins blood sample before temporary cold storage. * Keeps work area clean. * Performs monthly drain maintenance. * Collects water samples for testing as needed. * Trouble-shoots machine problems as needed. * Documents vital signs and machine pressures as per protocol. * Treat patients and families with respect. Dialysis Tech Job Description: Education & Experience Requirements: * Must complete a training program that is approved by the medical director and governing body, under the direction of a registered nurse, focused on the operation of kidney dialysis equipment and machines, providing direct patient care, and communication and interpersonal skills, including patient sensitivity training and care of difficult patients. * One year of current Dialysis Tech experience is required. * Current AHA BLS.
